Description | This building is probably a c.1865 70 conversion and enlargement as a warehouse/office, from a mid 19th century school building that was on the site previously. The building is four storeys high and is built of ashlar sandstone, with the two top storeys being additions at the time of the warehouse conversion. It has a seven bay front. There is an ashlar band over the tall ground floor, with an original frieze and projecting cornice over the first floor. The building has a shallow moulded eaves cornice, and ashlar linteled windows with late 19th century casements. There is a central semi circular wagon archway with voussoirs. The building has double cast iron railed gates with radial iron work fanlight. |
