TitleByron First School
DescriptionThis primary school was built in 1901, with additions dated to 1905 and to the early 20th century. It is built from rock faced stone with ashlar dressings, and has hipped welsh slate roofs with coped side wall stacks. It has a chamfered plinth and eaves band. There are two major blocks, each double pile, with the block to the right slightly set forward. There is an entrance block to the left and a utility block to the right. The windows are mainly cross casements, some reglazed, with stone mullions and transoms.
Plans were drawn up in 2004 proposing the conversion of the school into an enterprise centre, however it is not known whether this was carried through.
