TitleWatching brief at Dennison Hill
DescriptionA watching brief was undertaken by York Archaeological Trust in March 2001 during the excavation of a water pipe trench running from the rear of 36 Cross Green (see PRN 8717) down Dennison Hill in Otley (SE 20567 45627 SE 20558 45663).
During the watching brief, the only feature of archaeological interest found was a north south aligned wall or wall foundation at the south end of the pipe trench. It is thought to be of post medieval to early modern date due to its location away from the principal medieval settlement focus, and is thought to have been a boundary wall between Dennison Hill and an adjacent property to the west.
