TitleWatching brief at 36 Cross Green
DescriptionA watching brief was carried out by York Archaeological Trust in March 2001 to fulfil a planning condition to develop a new dwelling on a plot to the rear of 36 Cross Green in Otley.
The excavation of foundation and service trenches revealed only one feature of archaeological interest: a small, steep sided, concave based pit that was filled predominantly with sandstone rubble. There was no dating evidence recovered from this rubble fill and so the date of the pit remains uncertain.
