Title3-5 Waterside
DescriptionOriginally a single dwelling, this stone house has since been split into two separate dwellings (English Heritage, 1983). English Heritage (1983) describe it as dating to the early 18th century, whereas C Giles (1981) considers it to be slighter earlier, from around the mid 17th century. It is built of coursed rubble with quoins, and has a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high. A two storey addition to the rear (which is not included in the Listing) has obscured the detail, and subdivision has confused the original plan. The original doorway is now part blocked (English Heritage, 1983), and has quoins and a very deep arched lintel. Instead there are two inserted 19th century doorways.
