There is also a small stone laithe house at Sandygate farm, which is not Listed but is of some archaeological interest. It was built in the late 18th early 19th century of watershot stone with a stone roof. The door has a flush stone surround, with one jamb interrupted. The barn has quoins to the door, circular windows and a gable door with interrupted jambs. The house windows are two or three light mullioned windows with stone surrounds (Caffyn, 1982). |
