TitleHouse with loom chamber at Ryecroft Farm
DescriptionThis building originally consisted of a two storeyed, single bay wing addition to the 16th century farmhouse it adjoins (this is most likely The Olde House PRN 8705, but English Heritage list this as being of 18th not 16th century date). In the mid 18th century a second bay was added, at which stage it would have been divided from the farmhouse to give a separate dwelling. In the late 18th century, a single storey outshut was added to the north side. Soon after, the outshut was built up a second storey, and a third storey was added over the whole building to act as a weaving room. The building is built of stone with a stone flag roof with copings. The most distinctive feature of this building is the thirteen light mullioned window on the second floor, which faces towards the south to catch as much light as possible.
