Title | 121, 123 and 123A Woodhead Road and 2-8 Old Road |
Description | This terrace with under dwellings was built in the early mid 19th century. It is built of hammer dressed stone with a stone slate roof, and is three storeys high with a basement. On the northwest elevation, the ground and first floors are below street level. No. 121 to the left hand side breaks forward and has a second floor entrance and three light windows with glazing bars. The rest of the terrace has three and four light windows (with some alterations) to the first and second floors, and single lights to the right hand end. The second floor entrance to No. 123 is by arched stone bridge with concrete steps, and has a blocked doorway alongside. The entrance to No. 123A is at first floor level. The southeast elevation is of three storeys with a basement: the centre two bays are handed with an entrance to the left and right and two three light windows to the ground and first floors. There are two six light windows to the second floor. The dwellings to each end have single light windows. There is one three light window and part blocked loading door at second floor level at the right hand end. (Text edited from English Heritage LBO description) |
