TitleRoman Brooch Fragment
DescriptionCopper alloy Roman brooch fragment. The fragment is the head of the brooch with an integrally cast headloop and collar. The cylindrical wings of the brooch have a single longitudinal groove and are short. The reverse shows that the brooch has a hinged pin mechanism although the pin does not survive. The fragment is possibly from a Thealby brooch dating to the 2nd century. Discovered by a metal detectorist before 09/05/2005.
Length 23.07mm, width 16.5mm, thickness 9.29mm, weight 5g.
