DescriptionThis barn incorporates mid 17th century roof trusses that have been reused with mid 18th century stonework. It is built of thin coursed hammer dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It is of three bays and has quoins. There is a cart entry with reinforced jambs set in a pent porch with a wooden lintel. The inner doorway has a wooden lintel with circular holes for harr hung doors, which have now gone (English Heritage, 1986). On either side in the porch are doorways with monolithic jambs to mistals. There is also another cart entry with reinforced jambs set into the first bay. The building has coped gables with kneelers.
The interior of the barn has a good king post roof with straight braces to the ridge and single angle struts and trenched purlins. The tie beams have mortices for posts to a former aisle, which is now supported by a stone wall.
