TitleSt John's Sunday School and attached Church House
DescriptionThis Sunday School and attached caretaker or church warden’s house were built in the 19th century. The house dates to c.1848, with the school added later c.1888, filling in the gap between the house and Farsley National Schools (PRN 8669). The house is one and a half storeys high, and the school is a tall single storey high. They are built of hammer dressed stone with Welsh blue slate roofs.
The school is of five bays and has a pointed arched gateway set in the gap between it and Farsley National Schools, which is aligned differently. Each bay has paired cusped lancets, and bays one, three and five are all taller with gabled dormers. Bay three projects slightly.
The house is of three bays. The central doorway has two trefoils cut into the lintel and contemporary iron hinges, with a single cusped light above. The flanking bays have cusped lancets grouped in threes to the ground floor and twos to the first floor, with gabled dormers above.
