Title | Calverley House Farm coach house |
Description | This former coach house with first floor bothy above is contemporary with Calverley House Farmhouse (PRN 8661), which was built c.1800. It is now used for agricultural purposes (Thornborrow, 1997). It has a five bay symmetrical façade, with bays 1, 3, 5 having segmental arched carriage entries with finely cut voussoirs aligned to the courses of the surrounding stonework. There are windows above and to the other bays. Bay 2 has a loading door to the first floor. The first floor was a bothy for the grooms and contains four fireplaces. The coach house is not Listed, but the Farmhouse is, and so the coach house may fall within its curtilage. |
