TitleSaxon Lodge
DescriptionThis lodge was built in the mid 19th century. It is one and a half storeys high, and is built in Classical style from coursed roughly squared stone. It has a Welsh blue slate roof, which hangs over deeply projecting eaves with elongated S brackets. There is a bay window onto the road that still retains its original glazing, which is of a relatively uncommon form with angled astragal mouldings. This lodge is still largely intact with much of its original detailing (Thornborrow, 1992). It also retains entrance walls and gate piers (PRN 8658).
