TitleBurley Woodhead Village School
DescriptionThis old village school was probably built c.1800, but is no longer in use as a school and in 1990 there were plans to sell it on (Ilkley Gazette, 1990). The Old School, as it is marked on the WYAAS GIS (10/06/2008), is at right angles to Moor Road and is opposite The Green.
It is a tall single storey high, and is built of dressed coursed stone with a stone slab roof. The west side of the house has two large round headed windows with keystones and impost blocks, one of which has been lengthened to form a French window. There is also a plain mullion and transom window. The east side is similar, but has a gabled extension in place of the middle window. The north end has a single round headed window.
