TitleWellington Mills
DescriptionWellington Cloth Mills, now demolished, were originally built c.1872 and comprised a four storey factory building. When the Mills were taken over by Mr W E Yates c.1880, a three storey warehouse was also built on the site, along with new and improved extension buildings. There was a fire c.1888 that destroyed the original factory building, however the newer buildings by Yates survived. In the four years after the fire new mill buildings were built at the site, along with a tall chimney. These, along with a spacious stone arched gateway that gave access to a large central yard, provided an imposing frontage to Broad Lane.
From looking at the WYAAS GIS (10/06/2008), the mill appears to have been demolished, but the site seems to remain undeveloped at present.
