TitleHolly Bush House and adjoining barn to southwest and boundary wall
DescriptionThis house and barn and are now used as offices (English Heritage, 1976). There is also a wall and railings to the roadside that are included in the Listing. There is a 17th century range, with the house being rebuilt and the barn altered c.1800. There were further alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are built from coursed squared gritstone, the house courses being very thin, with slate roofs.
The house is two storeys high over a basement floor that is accessed via the rear of the building. The lower courses of walling on the rear and right return are probably the earlier 17th century house.
The barn has a central cart entrance with a raised segmental arch and quoined jambs. It has six queen post trusses and re used timbers used as lintels above one window and another blocked opening.
There is a boundary wall that fronts the barn that is of coursed stone with rounded coping. The house wall is approximately 13 metres long. The gate is missing.
