TitleBreary Grange Farm
DescriptionThe buildings at Breary Grange Farm annotated on a map in the folder are:
(1) A three bay cowhouse, which has a king post roof with single struts and a re used tie beam with mortices in the soffit.
(2) A four bay floored barn, with a queen post roof.
(3) A four bay floored stable with queen post trusses. The bottom three courses are of 17th century style dressed sandstone. There are paired gutter brackets.
(4) A seven bay barn with similar queen post trusses.
There is also a single storey outbuilding at the site, but this is not marked on the 1st edition OS map of 1848 and so is of a later date.
There is no other description of these buildings in the folder. However, it is known that a planning application was made in 1994 for the conversion of these farm buildings to five dwelling houses with ancillary workspace. By looking at the modern OS map (WYAAS GIS, 03/06/2008), it would seem that development of the site has taken place as the buildings have increased in size and number.
