TitleRoman Coin
DescriptionRoman struck or hammered silver siliqua (a small thin Roman coin common form the 4th century) of Gratian (367 383AD). Discovered by a metal detectorist about 1/1/1990. The obverse face has pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed, facing right and has the inscription D N GRATIANVS P F AVG. The reverse has Roma seated left on throne, holding Victory on globe and spear and the inscription VRBS ROMA.
Diameter 19.33mm, weight 1.97g.
