TitleCarved Rock, 6m from the wall of Old Glen House
DescriptionLarge extent of rough grit bedrock, sloping SW SE in grass. Two large, deep, possible cups.
The monument includes an exposed stretch of rounded, fissured gritstone bedrock bearing three or four cup marks and some more recent curved lines. The rock is situated in a popular visitor area with several public amenities, 6m from the wall of Old Glen House and only 2m from a short flight of steps leading from the tea area onto the moor. The steps are excluded from the scheduling, but the ground beneath is included.
