TitleUpwood Hall Carved Rock (De-Scheduled)
DescriptionSmooth grit rock, probably cut up on removal from Rombalds Moor. Markings sharply cut. One cup, surrounded by four narrow rings, the fourth ring slightly flattened at bottom, and continued in two long grooves just below fourth ring, and enclosing cup below that. Unsubstantiated references suggest that the rock may have originated on Grubstone Ridge on Rombalds Moor. Removed mid 19th century, donated to Keighley Museum 1925. Formerly located in rockery on pavement of Bow St. in Keighley, and Scheduled. The carved rock was de scheduled on 10/04/2001 and removed to the collections of the Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley.
