TitleCarved Rock
DescriptionRock which has been cut and moved. The carved surface is now almost perpendicular and has three clear cups with remnant of cup on cut edge. A few metres to S is another rock also cut, with depression possibly matching above and one other depression.
Description from the English Heritage Scheduled Monument notification for SAM no 25429 (17/02/1995);
The monument includes a carved gritstone rock, 0.56m x 0.76m x 0.53m. It is situated in a strip of trees in a field on the north side of the track from Stead to Burley in Whafedale. The rock has been cut and moved, probably from the field, before being set in its present position. The carving consists of three clear cups and a remnant of a cup on the cut edge.
