Description | Flat smooth grit rock almost embedded in heather and crowberry. Thirty nine cups mostly deep and well marked, three with rings, one ring incorporating four small cups, grooves from cups or partly round cups. Carvings cover most of rock surface. Description from the English Heritage Scheduled Monument Notification for SAM no 25307 (25/08/1995); The monument includes two carved rocks on the northern slope of the ridge at Lanshaw overlooking Woofa Bank. The southernmost of these (PRN 269) is c.38m ENE of a prominent small cairn, and the other (this PRN) is a further 5m to the north east.
