TitleCarved Rock, at Lanshaw overlooking Woofa Bank
DescriptionSmooth grit small rock in heather, with fairly level triangular carved top. Seven clear large cups on top surface, three on sloping sides.
Description from the English Heritage Scheduled Monumtn Notification for SAM no 25307 (25/08/1995);
The monument includes two carved rocks on the northern slope of the ridge at Lanshaw overlooking Woofa Bank. The southernmost of these (this PRN) is c.38m ENE of a prominent small cairn, and the other (PRN 270) is a further 5m north east. Cup marks feature prominently in the carvings on both rocks; the north easternmost of the pair is the more densely carved, and has rings surrounding three of the cup marks.
