TitleCarved rock on ridge overlooking Woofa Bank
DescriptionSmooth grit rock standing in level, open, stony ground with some heather and crowberry, its flat slightly domed carved surface cracked across the middle. Twenty cups, one with complete ring, one with incomplete ring. Traces of walling and cairns nearby.
Description from the English Heritage Scheduled Monument notification for SAM no 25294 (29/06/1995);
This monument includes a carved rock of very coarse gritstone, 1.1m x 1.6m x 0.45m. It is located on a ridge at Lanshaw, north of Upper Lanshaw Dam and overlooking Woofa Bank. Its grid reference by Global Positioning System is SE 13427 45390. The carving conists of 20 cups, including one with a complete ring and one with an incomplete ring.
