TitleLindley Moor Potteries, Salendine Nook
DescriptionSite of what believed to be a C17th mid C20th pottery. Some remains believed to exist on site, some possibly C18th in date. The pottery was established and run by the Morton's who are registered in the area in 1676. A family rift in the mid 1800s however causes the site to be divided by a wall and run as two distict potteries; each know as Lindley Moor Pottery (Lawrence. 1974. p.192 193) . The north site closed in 1945 and the south site in 1986. Pots on both sites where made using local clay and in a traditional country style. the later pottery specialised in plant pots (Griffin.2012. p.304)
