TitleMedieval spouted pitcher, Old Hill, Pontefract
Description13th 14th century A.D. spouted pitcher, found 1847 at Old Hill, `Monks Hill` (sic), Pontefract, when cutting the Wakefield and Goole Railway. In Sheffield City Museum (acc. no. J 93.1290). Grid. ref. is notional.
According to Ian Roberts, who has been in communication with Sheffield Musuem, the pitcher is probably a Hallgate bridge spouted pitcher, made in Doncaster in the 13th century (pers. comm, 2011). Six colour digital photographs of the pitcher are held on WYAAS's M:Drive.
