Title | Nostell Priory Registered Park and Garden |
Description | Group record for medieval priory, later house and gardens, and other associated features at Nostell. A watching brief (PRN 7374) was carried out by the National Trust in late May 2000 during the excavation of a small trench on the south of the southern pavilion to locate a water main. As excavation commenced it was noticed that quantitites of bone were being disturbed by the digger. Examination of the bone revealed that two fragments of cranium appeared to be human; this bone probably derived from a disturbed medieval burial. |
