Title | High Brown Knoll C |
Description | Mesolithic site north of Limers Gate; it is one of several Mesolithic flint sites discovered by S.Feather between 1958 and 1960 on and near Oxenhope Moor (see Group Record PRN 3859 for major group). The O.S. record card states that PRN 3867 is site of `further isolated finds', so precise nature of site is unknown; however, it most probably comprised scatters of microliths and waste material and is thus a candidate for a small `workshop' or flint knapping site. The site typically appears to lie close to a small stream. No further information. (S.Feather now at Industrial Museum, Bradford). (S.Feather now at Industrial Museum, Eccleshill, Bradford). |
