Description | Possible late medieval settlement. At least three terraced enclosures fronted by building platforms on the hill slope below the ruins on Cold Well Hill (once Cold Well Farm, abandoned c.1945 according to S. Moorhouse, now visible on aerial photographs taken by English Heritage in March 2010 as ruined buildings). Requires earthwork survey; as a minimum, limits of earthwork remains should be plotted. Location plan shows only area of interest as interpreted by HMG from CBA Forum report. Further evaluation may be required in advance of development but WYAS appraisal in first instance. |
