DescriptionBellpits present as earthworks(?) in the area known as Ryhill Pits; suggested by J. Goodchild to be pre 1600 in date. Ridge and furrow, with headland and hollow way, visible to NE. Area of Ryhill Pits heavily overgrown in 1977. Requires field visit and earthwork survey. Further evaluation required in advance of development.
