TitleLedston Park
DescriptionLedston Park/Ledston Lodge area of interest tentatively derived from Jeffreys 1775 and from HBMC 1984. Partially on site of medieval monastic grange (PRN 2725). There are two components to the area of interest first, the formal gardens and landscape park, which comprise North Park and the area immediately around Ledston Hall (ca. 7.5 ha.) and were laid out in three phases, ca. 1653 71, ca. 1701 39 and 20th c. Second, the larger park, marked as 'Ledston Lodge' on Jeffreys 1775; this dates from the 17th and early 19th c. The Park encompasses site of Ledston Beacon (SE 449 311) and Park Lodge (? the eponymous Ledston Lodge SE 450 309). Need to establish precise boundaries for SMR record. Further evaluation required in advance of development in areas of beacon, lodge and formal gardens.
