TitleElland Park
DescriptionElland Park. Medieval park, delineated on Saxton map of 1597. Contains site of Elland Old Hall (PRN 2585). Strip of watermeadow between park and River Calder appears to have been deliberately excluded from the area of the park possibly to preserve its agricultural viability (as pasture see similar features between Erringden Park and R.Calder, and Rothwell Haigh Park and R. Aire). Boundary should be checked for possible remains of park pale. APs add no useful information. Any future work should be at WYAS cost in first instance.
