TitleSlead Sike Mill
DescriptionSlead Sike Mill, was a mid 19th century steam powered woolen mill that later (c.1914) became a dye works and finishing facility. The mill consists of a 3 storey spinning mill of 14 by 4 bays, with an attached engine house. A weaving shed of 10 bays was added in the late 19th century and more sheds were added to the north of the site at a later date. Elements of a water management system are also evident in the form of a dam across Red Beck to the south of the site. At the time of the RCHME Survey (6/2/1985) the mill was still partly in use although it precise function is unknown.
