TitleLetter from Elizabeth Sutherland to Robert Parker, solicitor of Halifax
DescriptionSays the best thing would be to put a stop to the proceedings at Shibden by paying the money both to Horncastle and Higham. Says she is quite aware that her uncle is unfit to take any active part in the "painful proceedings but he is our nearest relation and I should not like any thing to be done without his sanction". She approves of Parker seeing Dr Belcombe - "it is quite evident that my poor sister becomes worse by being left to herself - if she was allowed to go to London there might be some outburst upon the Railway which would be of course reported in the newspaper". Ends by saying "May God grant his blessing to whatever means may be resorted to for my poor sister's benefit - she has known no comfort for years"
