AdminHistory	Halifax Town Trustees were in operation from 1762-1848, Halifax Borough from 1848-1974, with Northowram Urban District Council absorbed in 1900, Ovenden Local Board in 1892, and part of Warley Urban District Council in 1899. Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of Halifax, Brighouse and Todmorden Boroughs, and the Urban District Councils of Sowerby Bridge, Hepton, Elland, Hebden Royd, Ripponden and Queensbury and Shelf (Shelf part only).
